Eren Yeager (835- 854) was a German former Survey Corps member, Yeagerist Group leader, Last Hope of Humanity, Genocide Mastermind, and the main protagonist of the show and manga series, Attack On Titan (進撃の巨人, Shingeki no Kyojin) created by Hajime Isayama in September 2009 and animated in April 2013 by Mappa Studios.

Eren Yeager also known as Attack Titan, Suicidal Blockhead, and Founding Titan was born on 30 March 835 in the Shiganshina District, Paradis Island, Eldia (age 9 years, debut; age 15 years, joining survey corps; age 19 years time skip). Eren was a soft and mind boy during his childhood until the first outbreak of Titans. After losing his mom, Eren became violent and aggressive with a determination to bring an end to all Titans. He lost all his happiness and even smiled barely anytime. He used to wake up from nightmares and scream or cry at night. After becoming the Attack Titan and getting the knowledge of the future, Eren became emotionally numb and was determined to bring about the destruction of the world. He was broken from the inside and had to face all the different trials of life in order to fulfill his mission and save his people. Eren even sacrificed his love life in order for what was needed. By the end of the series, Eren finally found the peace and freedom he long wished for. Eren’s father Grisha was a scientist and was born outside the walls of Eldia. He found the Royal family with Founding Titan powers and took it for himself by killing everyone. Later it was revealed that it was Eren who had entered the mind of Grisha to make him do all the killings. In the end, he gave a Titan Serum to Eren and made him eat his own father as a Titan to acquire the powers.

During the first chapter, Titans broke into the walls and attacked the people where she lost her life saving Eren and Mikasa. She was eaten alive by the Smiling Titan in front of escaping Eren who swore to kill every Titan to take revenge.

Zeke Yeager was Eren’s half-brother who wanted to save the Eldian people by using the Founding Titan’s abilities to sterilize all Subjects of Ymir. He formed a false alliance with Eren to help him but instead betrayed him to stop the plan of Rumbling. He lost to Eren and was killed in the process while his body served Eren’s plan in distress.

Armin Arlet joined the Survey Corps along with Eren to help him achieve his goal. On the verge of death, he was saved by Eren and Captain Levi who gave him the Titan Serum and a chance to inherit the power of Colossal Titan. He fought alongside Eren and used his abilities to gain victories. In the end, he led the force to fight against Eren to stop him from ending the world and took the Title of Hero for saving the world and reuniting the world with the Eldian people.

Ever since a young age, Eren was filled with the hatred of killing every Titan and wanted to do so without any other thoughts. Since the age of 9, Eren and Mikasa have been living together after Mikasa lost her parents and Eren protected her from bandits. Mikasa had the blood of Ackerman which give her feats of superhuman strength and courage. Eren gave Mikasa his red scarf, which became the symbol of love for Mikasa and she always held it close to herself. She followed and protected Eren in every phase of life and joined the Survey Corps too. Eren was walking a path opposite his friends and had to do anything to protect them from the dangers to come, for which he pushed Mikasa and her love away from him by rejecting her confession. Mikasa loved Eren until the end and had to kill him to end the Titan reign and bring peace to the End Of the World. She said her final goodbye to Eren while she was in his mouth while Titan transformed and had to cut the head off the monster.

Eren is a dedicated Christan. He has been viewed as the devil and brought the end of humanity in order to save the ones close to him. In a parallel way, we can say Eren is believed to be a God himself to bring judgment upon this world.

Eren was recruited as a member of the 104th Survey Corps Units where he trained himself to learn the vertical maneuver gear in order to fight Titans. During his first encounter with Titans, he was supposedly killed but later was revealed to possess the powers of the Attack Titan. He acted as a support to the unit by using his Titan abilities to help his people fight against the Titans. Later learned the truth about the world and the people which made him change his mind and he went to declare war on the world outside Paradis Island. He ended up becoming the leader of the Yeagerist Group and successfully activating the Rumbling to flatten the Earth and kill millions of people. Everything he did was to protect his people and save the Eldian race.

Attack on Titan was produced by Wit Studios and Production I.G for the initial three seasons and MAPPA Studios did it for the fourth. The first season aired on Mainichi Broadcasting System in Japan on April 7, 2013. The anime broke the records for highest ratings for multiple episodes, with over 88 episodes, 1 recap episode, and 8 OVA (Original Video Animation). Season 1 was directed by Tetsurō Araki, Seasons 2 and 3 by Masashi Koizuka, and final Season 4 by Yuichiro Hayashi. The Anime version is yet to show the complete story of what the outcome will be.

Attack on Titan was written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama and published by Kodansha on September 9, 2009. It has sold over 150 million copies globally. Later in the year 2012, it was given a worldwide release on various online platforms one of them being, Crunchyroll. The manga was completed after in period of 11 years and its final chapter 139 was released on April 9, 2021. The manga shows the complete story with uncensored viewership for people over certain age groups. The manga initially gained few negatives but as the story progressed, it kept getting better.

- Human Form – In his human form, Eren had learned how to use the vertical maneuver gear while training in the Survey Corps and was good at using it. He used to train for hand-to-hand combat with Annie Leonhart and Reiner Braun which helped him learn various forms of fighting.
- Attack Titan Powers – Eren gained the Attack Titan power by consuming his father as a Titan. It gave him powers to become an abnormal Titan and a high level of fighting spirit with high regeneration and hardening abilities. He could look into the past and future and talk to previous users to change the course of history.

- War Hammer Titan Powers- Eren gained the powers of Warhammer Titan which allowed him to hide his real body and manifest things from within to use in combat. This power allowed him to escape the place in a stealthy manner and protect his body.

Attack on Titan anime has various scenes which have been modified and censored as compared to Manga for being too violent and blood-soaked. Many scenes were not suitable for the younger generation to watch and had to be removed even after the Anime was 18+.

Death
After over years 11 years of ongoing Manga, Attack on Titan came to end an end with the death of Eren Yeager the main protagonist in the most controversial ending. He died at the young age of age 19 in the year 854, during the events of Rumbling. Eren was killed by Mikasa and Armin in an epic showdown while he was using the powers of the founding Titan and destroying the world. in the form of Founding Titan, Eren was confronted by Mikasa in his mouth where she had a conversation with him before beheading him and putting an end to the genocide. Armin was given the title of “Hero” for stopping Eren and saving the world by sacrificing his childhood friend. In the end, Eren was finally able to see freedom and save his loved ones.

- In the earlier scenes of Anime and manga panels, it is clearly hinted that Eren possesses Titan powers as we can see steam coming out of his head when he got hurt during training.

- Eren loved Mikasa since the beginning but couldn’t let her get hurt after losing him and it would also be a hindrance for him to completing his plans.
- Eren had been the one lead to every action that his father Grisha Yeager took irrespective of his choice and how much it hurt him.
- In the first episode of the show, we are shown that there is a world outside of the walls of Paradis Island.
- Eren had been in a depressed state since he touched Historia’s hand and saw the future. He knew had to go through a lot to make decisions that would be difficult.
- Eren’s real mother was eaten by the Smiling Titan who was later revealed to be the first wife of Grisha Yeager (Eren’s Father) outside the walls of Paradis Island.
